Moving away from this area and will miss this place. We usually get the zenbu set to share between two of us. But sometimes we get our own sets. Alot of food. Great chill vibe and the servers are always super nice.

Went to this branch last week during a trip in BC and I must say, this has been the highlight of our trip! Ordered the Zenbu Katsu for sharing and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection! The sauce was really good and everything comes with unlimited rice salad! I will definitely go back once I’m in the city again! Service was also top-notch. PS: The place can be packed so it’s better to give them a call prior to going!

It is a small restaurant so we had to wait around 45 minutes for dinner on a weekday. We ordered Zenbu katsu with additional miso, rice & cabbage to share for 2 adults & 1 kid. The portion was very generous and we were all stuffed at the end of the meal. All the katsu had very crispy coating. The pork cutlets were super tender. The cheese pork cutlet still melted by the time I bite into it! The seafood pieces (ebi & scallop) were perfectly cooked - not chewy & not overcooked! The sauce was very tasty and perfectly complemented the katsu. The miso soup was very good too! So flavorful and not too salty. The cabbage was fresh and crisp. My favorite thing was the dressing! The sesame dressing was creamy and nutty! It was similar to Kewpie but 100x way better and did taste homemade! I could drink those dressing on its own (in fact, we literally finished the whole bottle of dressing).

I absolutely LOVE this place, the katsu is pure crispy heaven. The salad dressing is delicious and the soup is a beautiful touch, unlimited refills of the salad and soup is a great addition too. My wife and I crave this place at least once a month and usually order the cheese and pork which we split which is ideal. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it, might have to make a trip back soon!

Met a friend at Saku and had a delightful experience. The waitlist link online didn't work but we didn't need to worry about that because there were tables open when we arrived. The atmosphere was both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable with bright, warm lighting, and the two waiters were very polite. I tried the Saku on Broadway in Vancouver once years ago and loved it and was impressed again here. I got the veggie curry and also their seasonal cinnamon ginger drink. Their curry sauce is earthy and so rich; I am in love. The veggies were fried to be nice and soft inside and not too oily. The sides are also very good. I subbed out the tonjiru for a mini cold udon. The noodles were tender and the broth was also really flavourful. This was my first time trying cold udon and I was pleasantly surprised by how different flavours come out in the cold broth. The cinnamon ginger drink was very unique with the warm cinnamon ginger flavour in a refreshing soda. My meal with tip was about 40. Although it’s a little expensive, the portions are generous as is and you can stretch the value even more by ordering complimentary refills for your sides. I didn’t need it since I was full with the first round.

This place is pretty awesome if you’re into katsu. I got the sampler so I got to try a whole bunch of different ones, it’s a good portion to share between two people, because it’s quite overwhelming how much meat you get (highly recommend going that route). You also get unlimited rice and soup with the sampler so it’s definitely a good amount of food to keep you full. Service is very good and the space is quite open and modern. This place does get very busy and they close fairly early in the evening so plan ahead.

Saku is one of my favorite places to satisfy my donkatsu cravings. The staff are incredibly friendly, which always adds to the experience. The deep-fried pork cutlet is typically crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, although during my last visit, I noticed that the bottom of the cutlet was a bit soggy. This might be due to the pork not being properly defrosted and brought to room temperature before frying, which can cause moisture to leak out. It would be great to see them ensure this step is consistently followed, as I've usually enjoyed their perfectly crispy pork cutlet. I also appreciate the offering of unlimited miso soup and salad—such a nice perk! However, I would love to see a few more salad dressing options added to enhance the experience further. Overall, Saku remains a top choice for me, and I'm looking forward to my next visit!
